We can thank a Weibo user for stirring up parts of the internet today. Leaked photos of what looks like an iPhone 16 dummy unit have appeared online, sparking mixed reactions on Reddit.
One noticeable change from the iPhone is the camera bump on the iPhone 16. While camera bumps can be a hassle without a case, some people are okay with the trade-off if it means better photo quality.
The most striking design feature is the separate flash, which floats beside the camera bump. This unusual placement has caught the attention of several Reddit users, who share similar concerns about its appearance.
The iPhone 16 has a different shape, and the camera bump protrudes more than the iPhone 15. Unlike the square bump on the previous model with diagonally aligned lenses, the new design features two vertically aligned lenses.
Reddit users are more concerned about the iPhone 16’s oddly placed flash than its large camera bump. Some find the flash’s separate placement off-putting, while others have reacted positively, noting it resembles an updated iPhone X.
Many are excited about the potential upgrade from their older iPhone X or XS models. However, since these images aren’t official, the final design remains uncertain until the iPhone 16 is officially announced, likely at Apple’s September event.
