Earlier this week, Apple announced two new 3% cash back partners for the Apple Card: Booking.com and ChargePoint. While these are great additions, there’s some disappointing news for Panera Bread fans.
Starting February 1st, Apple Card users will no longer get 3% cash back when dining at Panera, Apple’s only dining partner.
The partnership, which began in August 2020, lasted over four years. Apple even ran special promotions for Panera customers, like offering $50 cash back for spending $50 at the restaurant.
While it’s unclear why the deal is ending, it may simply be that it no longer made sense financially for Panera to continue.
What is Apple Card?
The Apple Card is a credit card created by Apple in partnership with Goldman Sachs. It is designed to work seamlessly with Apple devices like the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It was launched in 2019 and integrates deeply into the Apple Wallet app for easy spending management and tracking.
The Apple Card is great for iPhone users who prefer a card with easy digital integration, minimal fees, and straightforward rewards. It’s especially beneficial for those who frequently shop at Apple or use Apple Pay.
You can apply for the Apple Card directly from the Wallet app on an iPhone.
