I have to say that this is one of the last things that I thought would happen so quickly with a new iPhone. If your iPhone’s battery life worse since upgrading to iOS 18, you’re definitely not alone.
And it’s only been a few weeks, I might add.
Many iPhone 16 and 16 Pro users are reporting huge battery drains, with some phones dropping from 100% to 60% by midday without heavy use. One user even mentioned a 1% drop every five minutes.
According to MacRumors, a long thread is filled with users frustrated by the issue. While some battery drain is expected in the first 24 hours after an update due to system re-indexing, the problem seems persistent for iPhone 16 models.
Disabling features like ProMotion 120Hz and background app refresh has helped some, but no universal fix has been found. iOS 18.0.1 and the iOS 18.1 beta offer potential solutions, but results are mixed.
