According to a Counterpoint study, the iPhone 15 was the best-selling smartphone worldwide in Q3 2024. The iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro followed in second and third places. In a first for a third quarter, iPhone Pro Series variants contributed half of the total iPhone sales.
Samsung also placed several models in the Top 10, primarily budget options like the Galaxy A15 4G, Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A05. The flagship Galaxy S24 took the tenth spot, ahead of the budget Redmi 13C 4G and the iPhone 14.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S24 is the first Galaxy S flagship to reach the Top 10 in Q3 since 2018.
Consumers are increasingly choosing high-end smartphones, closing the gap in market share between the base iPhone and Pro models. For the first time in a Q3, Pro models made up half of all iPhone sales, boosting Apple’s revenue from higher-priced devices. Altogether, these ten smartphones accounted for 19% of total Q3 sales.
