Apple Original Films has announced a sequel to its hit action-comedy The Family Plan, with Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan returning. This time, the Morgan family is on a “holiday-themed European adventure” filled with, but of course, festive chaos. While the original topped Apple TV+ viewership, it earned just a 27% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though audiences gave it a more favorable 61%.
Wahlberg is back as Dan Morgan and will also produce. He expressed excitement, saying, “We’re eager to team up with Apple and Skydance again for the next chapter.” Filming will begin soon to capture the European winter setting, with co-stars Zoe Colletti and Van Crosby also returning.
Director Simon Cellan Jones is back, alongside Skydance Media producers David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger. This sequel adds to Apple’s growing slate of projects, including The Gorge and Fountain of Youth, as the company continues expanding its original films.
Apple TV+ is available for $9.99/month with a seven-day free trial or free for three months with the purchase of a new Apple device.
