According to Bloomberg, Apple is set to release a new version of the Mac mini based on its M4 chip, making it the smallest computer in the company’s history. This news comes as Apple prepares to launch its iPhone 16 series next month.
But that’s not all—Apple is also rumored to be working on several other exciting devices that could arrive sooner than expected, including a new M4 MacBook Pro and a tabletop iPad.
The new Mac mini will be noticeably smaller than previous models. Its design is similar to that of the Apple TV but slightly taller to accommodate a cooling system. While the current Apple TV is 31 mm tall and the Mac mini is 35.8 mm tall, the difference in height will be minimal. The design of the Mac mini hasn’t changed much since 2010, but this new aluminum model will break that trend.
Unlike the upcoming M4 MacBook Pro, which is expected to keep its current design, the Mac mini will feature a fresh look. The device is expected to launch later this year, though the exact date hasn’t been announced.
Rumors suggest it will include multiple USB-C ports, HDMI, and a power port, possibly with fanless cooling for quiet operation. This compact device could be perfect for use in a range of settings, from home media servers to portable workstations.
Stay tuned as we update you on these and other potential Apple releases.
