Apple Intelligence, Apple’s new AI feature suite with a revamped Siri, image generation, and photo-editing tools, might be more exciting than iOS 18. However, it could also be pricey.
According to Neil Shah from Counterpoint Research, Apple might charge $10-$20 for some of the advanced features in Apple Intelligence. While Shah didn’t specify which features would be free or paid, the enhanced Siri or ChatGPT integration could likely come with a cost.
Shah mentioned that if Apple does charge for Apple Intelligence, it might be bundled into an Apple One plan. This would mean you’d also get things like iCloud storage and possibly subscriptions to Apple TV Plus and Apple Music, similar to how Google bundles its AI services with Google One.
There’s already a trend of charging for AI, like OpenAI does for its advanced ChatGPT model. Shah also noted that Apple Intelligence could make it even harder for users to switch to Android, as the AI would learn and personalize based on your behavior, and that data wouldn’t transfer to another platform.
