After allowing users to buy their way to the top of the replies by purchasing an X Premium subscription, the platform has now introduced a new menu to sort replies using traditional options.
The feature, launched yesterday on iOS and Web, is a welcome addition. If you were frustrated by blue checkmark users spamming irrelevant replies for views, you’re in luck!
The new menu lets you sort replies by most relevant, most recent, and most liked. ‘Most relevant’ will likely prioritize those who pay for X/Twitter, while ‘most recent’ and ‘most liked’ are self-explanatory.
Unfortunately, your chosen setting doesn’t save, so you will need to reselect it for each tweet. Still, this is a step toward making the replies section more user-friendly.
After Elon Musk acquired Twitter in 2022, he introduced Twitter Blue (now X Premium) for $8/month, giving users a blue checkmark and a boost in replies.
In 2023, X Premium+ launched for $16/month, offering an even bigger boost. This pay-to-win system led to many users promoting themselves in replies to popular tweets.
About X (Formerly Twitter)
X, formerly known as Twitter, is a social media platform that enables users to share short messages, known as tweets, engage in conversations, and follow other users. Founded in 2006, X has become a key platform for real-time news, updates, and social interaction. In 2022, Elon Musk acquired the platform and implemented significant changes, including the rebranding to X and the introduction of subscription services like X Premium and X Premium+, which offer features like a blue checkmark and enhanced visibility in replies. X allows users to express opinions, share content, and engage with a global audience, making it a popular tool for individuals, brands, and public figures alike.
