Apple’s next AirPods Pro might get a major upgrade with a new digital active noise cancellation (ANC) system, improving the current technology. At Apple’s September 9 event, the AirPods lineup, including the Pro model, is expected to see some small updates.
According to leaker Kosutami, the new AirPods Pro will feature a “Digital ANC” that’s much better than the previous version. While the exact changes to the digital ANC system aren’t clear, it will likely have improvements to the internal processing hardware.
Previous rumors about the AirPods Pro updates have suggested features like a hearing aid mode, building on Conversation Boost and Live Listen. There’s also talk of a new design and chip for the earphones.
While a fall launch is possible, some rumors suggest a release in 2025 instead. Speculation also points to potential big changes in 2026, like adding radar cameras to adjust audio in real-time when using Apple Vision Pro.
