According to the Weibo-based leaker “Fixed focus digital,” noted by MacRumors, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a new “bronze hue” color with a titanium-like frame. The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to launch in September or October, and here’s what the rumors say:
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to support Wi-Fi 7. Apple might discontinue the Plus model with the iPhone 17 lineup in 2025, and there could be a model with a mechanical aperture.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are likely to support 40W wired fast charging and 20W MagSafe charging. They might also have some Face ID design changes. The iPhone 16 Pro will get the tetraprism periscope camera with 5x optical zoom from the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Pro models will have the thinnest bezels of any smartphone, with the iPhone 16 Pro at 6.3 inches and the iPhone 16 Pro Max at 6.9 inches, possibly making it Apple’s biggest iPhone yet. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to offer longer battery life and the brightest iPhone display.
Apple’s 6.7-inch iPhone 16 Plus model might come in seven colors: blue, pink, yellow, green, black, white, and purple. The iPhone 16 lineup will feature bigger batteries, except for the iPhone 16 Plus, which will have a smaller one. The premium models may use a custom dual ion-exchange glass process, and the A18 Pro chip will have a larger die size for better AI performance. New colors like “space black” and “rose” might replace “black titanium” and “blue titanium.”
All iPhone 16 models will introduce a new ultra-thin bezel technology. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will expand the tetraprism camera with up to 5x optical zoom and may come in “Desert Titanium” and “Titanium Gray.” The iPhone 16 Pro Max could have the longest battery life ever in an Apple smartphone. The new Capture Button will detect multiple pressure levels to work like a two-step camera shutter button.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will double the storage capacity of the iPhone 15 Pro models, offering up to 2TB. Qualcomm’s latest cellular modem may be limited to the iPhone 16 Pro models. The Pro models will increase in size to 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches and might start with 256GB of base storage. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will come in black, white, grey, and rose, while the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be available in black, green, pink, blue, and white. The Pro models will also have upgraded 48MP ultra-wide angle lenses and a 5x telephoto lens.
