Apple’s tech specs reveal that all new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models now feature a peak brightness of 1,000 nits for standard content in bright outdoor environments, like on a sunny day. In contrast, the previous-generation models offered 600 nits, regardless of lighting conditions.
Similar to the iPhone 16 and select Apple Watch models, the latest MacBook Pros can dim their displays to as low as one nit in low-light settings, while the previous models only dimmed to two nits.
The brightness specs for HDR content remain unchanged from the previous MacBook Pro models.
The new MacBook Pro models are available for pre-order now and will launch on Friday, November 8. For more details on other features, check out our earlier coverage of Apple’s announcements for both the base 14-inch and higher-end MacBook Pro models.
