Apple is rumored to bring a major shake-up to its iPhone lineup with the iPhone 17 Slim, set to launch in 2025. Reliable analysts like Jeff Pu and Ming-Chi Kuo have shed light on the upcoming changes, emphasizing a focus on form over function.
Key Features of the iPhone 17 Slim:
- Chip: A19
- Display: 6.6-inch
- RAM: 8GB
- Front Camera: 24MP
- Rear Camera: Single 48MP lens
- Biometrics: Face ID
- Casing: Aluminum
According to Pu’s latest investor note, the iPhone 17 Slim will have a sleek, all-new design, likely replacing the current Plus model. While details about pricing and exact positioning remain unclear, it’s speculated that the iPhone 17 Slim could even be priced higher than the iPhone Pro Max.
Performance Across the iPhone 17 Lineup:
- iPhone 17 & iPhone 17 Slim: A19 chip, 8GB RAM
- iPhone 17 Pro & iPhone 17 Pro Max: A19 Pro chip, 12GB RAM
Pu also reports that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a “narrowed Dynamic Island,” thanks to a new metalens technology that reduces the size of the Face ID sensor. All iPhone 17 models are expected to sport a 24MP front-facing camera, a significant jump from the current 12MP.
As Apple continues its work on the iPhone 17 series, there’s still time for plans to shift, but for now, this dramatic design change seems to be in the works.
