If you love Snapchat and have an iPad, Snapchat’s new iPad app is finally here. It’s been a long wait—13 years, to be exact.

For those new to Snapchat, the app now offers the same great experience on your iPad’s larger screen. You can enjoy all the photo and video sharing, fun filters and effects, just like you would on an iPhone.

For existing Snapchat users, the new app offers a scaled-up version of what they’re used to without compromises. However, it’s important to mention that the new Snapchat app isn’t fully optimized for iPads yet. It only runs in portrait mode, not landscape mode, which limits its use on a tablet.

With its new native iPad app, Snapchat is better positioned to compete with TikTok and boost visibility for its own feature, Spotlight.

This launch comes after TikTok released an update last year to better support larger screens like iPads and tablets. TikTok now lets users view the app in landscape mode, making it easier to navigate.

Additionally, Instagram still doesn’t have a native iPad app, giving Snapchat and TikTok a slight advantage over the Meta-owned platform.
