Apple is rumored to be developing a thin, next-gen iPhone 17 Air, but recent reports suggest there may be issues.
According to industry sources shared by the news aggregator yeux1122 on the Korean blog site Naver (via MacRumors), Apple may be struggling to make the iPhone 17 Air as thin as planned. The issue? Battery size.
Apple reportedly aims to use a 6mm-thick battery, but this limits how thin the device can actually be. For context, the thinnest iPhone so far is the iPhone 6 at 6.9mm. If true, the iPhone 17 Air may not be much slimmer.
Of course, this rumor should not be taken lightly, given it’s nearly a year before the iPhone 17’s release. However, if it is accurate, the new slim design might feel less impressive than expected.
