In Pokémon Go, Umbreon is one of the possible evolutions of Eevee, a popular and versatile Pokémon. Umbreon is a Dark-type Pokémon known for its high defense and stamina stats, making it a good choice for battles, especially in the Great League.

Umbreon is recognizable by its sleek, black body with yellow rings and red eyes. It’s particularly effective against Psychic and Ghost-type Pokémon.

Umbreon evolves from Eevee when certain conditions are met:

  1. Nickname Trick: If you haven’t used it yet, you can nickname your Eevee “Tamao” before evolving it to guarantee it will evolve into Umbreon. This trick only works once.
  2. Buddy Method: If you’ve already used the nickname trick, you can still get Umbreon by making Eevee your Buddy Pokémon. Walk with your Eevee Buddy for at least 10 KM and earn two Eevee candies. Then, while Eevee is still your Buddy, evolve it at night to get Umbreon.

If you’ve already used the nickname trick and want another Umbreon or Espeon in Pokémon Go, there’s another way to control these Eeveelutions. Normally, hitting the Evolve button gives you a random Vaporeon, Flareon, or Jolteon. However, you can get Umbreon or Espeon by following these steps:

  1. Make the Eevee you want to evolve your Buddy.
  2. Walk with your Eevee Buddy for at least 10 KM and earn two Eevee candies. (You must earn these candies while Eevee is your Buddy.)
  3. While Eevee is still your Buddy, hit the Evolve button during the day to get Espeon or at night to get Umbreon.

About Pokemon Go

Pokémon Go is an augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. Launched in July 2016, the game allows players to capture, train, and battle virtual creatures known as Pokémon in the real world using their smartphone’s GPS and camera. Players explore their surroundings to find Pokémon, visit PokéStops for items, and compete in Gym battles. By joining one of three teams—Mystic, Valor, or Instinct—players engage in large-scale Raid Battles, complete research tasks, and participate in special events.

Pokémon Go encourages physical activity and social interaction as players walk to find Pokémon and participate in community events. The game has had a significant cultural impact, blending the nostalgia of the Pokémon franchise with innovative AR technology. Regular updates and new features keep the gameplay experience fresh and engaging, making Pokémon Go a unique and enduring mobile game.
