It appears that the prospects of a folding iPad remain uncertain. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently revised his timeline for the highly anticipated folding MacBook. Initially predicting a launch in 2026, Kuo now believes the device won’t be available until 2027 or 2028.
Kuo reported no signs of development for such a device within Apple’s supply chain, stating that its mass production has been delayed due to technical challenges related to the display and mechanisms. He also mentioned that the final size of the MacBook has been reduced to 18.8 inches, and the larger 20.25-inch design has been abandoned.
Industry analyst Mark Gurman has echoed Kuo’s timeline for the iPad’s potential release, citing his own sources. Gurman confirmed that there are currently no visible signs of development for a foldable iPad in Apple’s supply chain. Outside of this information, signs remain unclear if 2027 or 2028 are accurate projections. Stay tuned for more.
