The iPhone 17 lineup, expected in September 2025, is already making waves, especially with rumors about a super-thin model called the iPhone 17 Air. While the name isn’t confirmed, it could also be called the iPhone 17 Slim. Apple may go with “Air” to make it sound more premium, as experts like Mark Gurman and Jon Prosser suggested.

Rumors about pricing suggest the iPhone 17 Air could cost more than the Pro Max, possibly starting at $1,299. However, some reports hint it might replace the Plus model, which starts at $899, making it more affordable than initially thought.

The design is expected to be thinner than the iPhone 16 but not as slim as first hoped due to battery constraints. It could measure around 6.9mm thick and use lightweight materials like aluminum or a mix of aluminum and titanium. A 6.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, scratch-resistant coating, and possibly an OLED panel could make it visually impressive.

For cameras, the iPhone 17 Air might stick to a single 48MP rear camera, similar to the iPhone SE 4, and upgrade the selfie camera to 24MP. While the simplified setup might cut costs, it raises questions about whether it justifies a higher price.

Apple is known for predictable release schedules, so the iPhone 17 Air will likely launch in September 2025. It may not break records for thinness, but it could offer a sleek, lightweight option for those who want a larger screen without the bulk. More details are expected as the release date gets closer, with leaks and photos likely to surface before WWDC 2025.
