If you’re planning to upgrade to an iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max later this year, it’s worth considering your color options now.
Although Apple hasn’t confirmed the colors yet, leaks and rumors give us a good idea of the likely shades. You’ll find all the expected options in the next slides.
Choosing the color of your iPhone is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make. After all, you’ll be using this phone daily for at least a year, if not longer, and its appearance will be something you see many times each day.
Purple
There’s a possibility of a purple shade for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. While the iPhone 15 does not come in purple, the iPhone 14 is available in a purple shade, as shown above. If introduced, a purple option could offer an intriguing alternative.
Green
Green is another shade mentioned by the sources above, with one adding that the green iPhone 16 might use color-infused glass, similar to the iPhone 15’s colors.
Black / Space Black
Multiple sources suggest that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus might be available in black. Reputable leaker Ming-Chi Kuo, along with another source, both indicate the possibility of a black iPhone 16 model.
Black is a very popular and common smartphone color, and it’s available for the iPhone 15, so it’s likely we’ll see a similar option for the iPhone 16.
White / Silver
Another iPhone 16 shade mentioned by both of these sources is white, which as with black is a very common, popular choice for a smartphone – if perhaps a bit uninteresting.
However, you can’t get the iPhone 15 in white, so this would be a new shade for the year if it is offered – though some past iPhones have come in white or off white shades, such as the iPhone 14 in Starlight, pictured above.
Yellow
Yellow was also mentioned by one of the sources as a possible shade, but we’re less convinced about this option. Besides the fact that only one source has mentioned it, they don’t have a strong track record and suggested seven shades, which is more than Apple typically offers.
However, there is a yellow iPhone 15, which is a pale yellow. It remains to be seen if the iPhone 16 will feature a similar yellow shade, if it exists.
Pink / Rose Gold
Among the rumored shades for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, rose is the only one that might actually offer a bit of color. This shade has been leaked by the same two sources, and it’s not available for the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, making it a unique option.
Some iPhones, like the iPhone 15, are available in pink or rose gold. However, we expect the rose shade leaked for the iPhone 16 to look slightly different, given its distinct name.
Blue
Lastly, Blue has also been mentioned by the same sources and is a color available for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. If it’s a similar shade this year, it will be very pale, but we might instead see a much brighter or darker shade of blue. Depending on the hue, it could be either a smart alternative to black or a fun, playful option.
