CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple today announced that Apple Sports, the free app for iPhone designed for speed and simplicity, has officially added golf to its lineup of supported sports. Starting today, fans can follow their favorite players and tournaments with a new level of detail, right from the palm of their hand.

Every Fairway, Every Green

Golf fans can now track every moment as tournaments unfold. The update provides comprehensive coverage for all official PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour events, including the majors. The coverage begins this weekend with the high-energy WM Phoenix Open.

Within the app, users can access:

  • Live Leaderboards: Real-time standings for the entire field.
  • Hole-by-Hole Results: A granular look at how the course is being played.
  • Individual Scorecards: Deep dives into specific player performance.
  • Round-by-Round History: Full context for every tournament throughout the year.

More Goals for Soccer Fans

In addition to golf, Apple Sports continues to expand its global soccer coverage. This update introduces support for some of Europe’s most prestigious federation cups:

  • DFB-Pokal (Germany)
  • Coupe de France (France)
  • Coppa Italia (Italy)
  • Copa del Rey (Spain)

A Powerhouse Weekend in Sports

With the addition of golf and major soccer cups, Apple Sports is the ultimate companion for this weekend’s “momentous lineup” of professional sports—including football’s biggest game of the year.

Fans can utilize the personalized home experience to keep their favorite teams and leagues front and center. The app’s intuitive design allows users to customize their view, ensuring that favored teams and live scores are always just a glance away.

Stay in the Game: With Live Activities, real-time updates are delivered directly to the iPhone Lock Screen and Apple Watch, while Game Card Sharing lets fans easily send tournament snapshots and match excitement to friends.

Availability Apple Sports is available as a free download on the App Store for iPhone users in the U.S., the U.K., and Canada. The app requires iOS 17.2 or later.
