In a surprising turn of events, Epic Games announced on Twitter that Apple has finally accepted their previously rejected Epic Games Store app store submission.

The two tech titans have been clashing over Apple’s 30% App Store commission since Epic introduced its own payment system in Fortnite. This time, Epic accuses Apple of unfairly rejecting their third-party app store submission.

Just 30 minutes after Epic’s celebratory tweet, CEO Tim Sweeney threw another wrench in the works. He claims Apple informed reporters the approval is temporary, demanding button changes in the next version that would “make our store less standard and harder to use.” This sudden turn of events has added significant weight to the situation, but Epic, unsurprisingly, vows to fight this latest hurdle.

Epic Games claims Apple rejected their third-party app store launch again, citing similar button designs. In a series of posts on [Platform name], Epic says Apple flagged their “install” button and “in-app purchases” label as too close to Apple’s own designs.

Fortnite refutes Apple’s claims, arguing it uses common naming conventions for “install” and “in-app purchases” that mirror industry standards across popular app stores. Epic’s button design simply follows standard conventions for iOS apps, ensuring a familiar and fair experience for mobile users. Surely, there will be more to come on this story.
