First, there’s a new, more discreet status light built into the case. It turns off when the case is closed, making it almost invisible. When you open the case, the light comes on, marking the location of a hidden capacitive button underneath.
To pair the AirPods 4 with an iPhone or other device, simply double-tap the status light. This gesture activates the invisible button to start the pairing process. Remember this method for future pairings with other devices around your home.
Additionally, knowing how to factory reset the AirPods 4 is important. You’ll either need to triple-tap the button or press and hold it. While it’s unclear which gesture Apple chose, it’s likely the press-and-hold option, as it minimizes accidental resets.
