The cast of Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed series The Studio has cancelled their upcoming press day panel following the sudden passing of comedy legend Catherine O’Hara.
The panel was scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, in Santa Monica, featuring stars Seth Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, and Chase Sui Wonders. While O’Hara was not slated to attend the event, the panel was intended to teaser Season 2, which is currently in production.
News of O’Hara’s death at age 71 broke early Friday. According to a statement from her agency, CAA, the actress passed away in Los Angeles following a brief illness. Tributes from her The Studio co-stars surfaced quickly, with Rogen calling O’Hara “hysterical, kind, intuitive, and generous.”
“She made me want to make our show good enough to be worthy of her presence in it,” Rogen shared in a heartfelt post. “Getting to work with her was a true honor.”
In a joint statement, Apple TV+ and Lionsgate praised O’Hara as an “undeniable legend and incomparable talent,” noting that she “elevated every project she was a part of.” Production on The Studio Season 2 began just last month; it remains unclear how the loss of O’Hara—who portrayed former studio chief Patty Leigh—will affect the show’s creative direction.
