A new Apple News feature is launching for U.S. users on Election Day, November 5, delivering real-time election updates right to your device—no need to refresh news sites or unlock your phone.
To activate, ensure you’re using an iPhone 14 Pro (or newer) with iOS 16.1, or an iPad running iPadOS 17. Open the Apple News app, tap “Follow Live” when prompted, and you’re all set to receive updates as coverage begins.
When enabled, Live Activity appears as an interactive widget on your Lock Screen, giving you instant access to detailed results with a tap. If you’re on an iPhone 14 Pro or newer, updates also show up in the Dynamic Island, so you can keep an eye on the latest while multitasking.
