Spotify now shows pricing information in its app for iPhone users in the European Union. This change comes after a long legal battle with Apple. Starting today, EU users will see details like promotional offers and pricing for each subscription tier, including how much a plan will cost once a promotion ends.

However, users won’t be able to click a link to buy subscriptions outside of the Apple App Store. Instead, Spotify has chosen to use a special option called the “music streaming services entitlement.” This option was introduced by Apple after a €1.84 billion (about $2 billion) antitrust fine in March, which accused Apple of unfair practices in the music streaming market.

Spotify decided not to accept Apple’s new, complicated developer terms, which would have allowed linking to external payment options but would require Apple to take a cut of those sales. Spotify argues that these fees are “illegal and predatory.”

Spotify has been fighting against Apple in the EU since 2019 when it filed an antitrust complaint about App Store rules. In March, Spotify claimed that Apple was preventing changes like the ones announced today.
